Dr N. Tanuja and Dr M Sujana

The 14th IAP UG Quiz was a grand success last year. More than 150 medical colleges participated in the college rounds. The winners of the college rounds participated at one of the 26 divisional rounds held at various premier institutes all over the country.

Five zonal rounds were held one in each zone. The South Zone had to hold State-level pre-zonal rounds, as there was an overwhelming response. All this culminated in the final round, which was held at Bangalore during the 39th Annual Conference of IAP.

The winners are Dr Atul Patil and Dr Amit Ravi Mandar from Seth G.S. Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai (West Zone). The runners up are Dr N. Tanuja and Dr M Sujana from Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool, (Central Zone). Three cheers for the winners! The entire quiz was done without the help of any major sponsor from the Pharma industry. This was possible because of untiring and selfless help from the HODs of medical colleges, divisional co-coordinators, zonal co-coordinators and the office bearers of IAP branches. We are thankful to each one of them.

The Indian Journal of Practical Pediatrics sponsored the printing of certificates as well as the gold medals for the winner team members, silver medals for the runners-up and one year's free subscription of IJPP to all the participants of the final round. They have promised to continue the same support this year too. We are indeed obliged to them for their kind gesture.
